Ending racial disparities in the birth space.

We donate 20% of our Postpartum Recovery Bundle sales directly to Black doulas, midwives, lactation consultants, and organizations that are helping end the Black maternal health crisis.

Why is this important? Black women are three to four times more likely than white women to die from pregnancy-related causes. These outcomes are the result of the bias of medical providers, structural racism, and economic inequality. We believe that supporting current and future Black birth workers is essential to change this.

FOUNDER + MOTHER
Jodi Day

I started Mother Mother because, as a new mom, I struggled to find the support and care I needed during the postpartum period. When my son was an infant, I left my design job in New York and moved our family to Los Angeles. As he grew, I found myself constantly putting his needs above my own and feeling burnt out as a result.

I began to prioritize self-care and it made a huge difference in my well-being. However, when I looked for a shop that had all the essentials for postpartum care – from compression socks and perineum care to non-toxic skincare – I couldn't find what I was looking for. That's why I decided to create it myself.

I spoke with dozens of mothers and gathered their must-have self-care products, and Mother Mother was born. Our products are multi-purpose essentials with elevated design and sustainable packaging, all at an accessible price. My hope is that Mother Mother will help other mothers feel supported and cared for during the postpartum period, just as I wish I had been.
